Adventure Sports in Hershey
Adventure Sports in Hershey is a sports center that provides entertainment for the whole family. Its attractions include 18-hole miniature golf, batting cages, go-carts, bumper boats, a golf driving range, and a 4,000-square-foot arcade. Hershey Bears
The Hershey Bears, originally known as the Hershey B'ars, are the oldest franchise in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Bears, eight-time Calder Cup winners, keep Hershey fans on their toes during their action-packed games. Coco the bear, the Bears' official mascot, also delights and entertains spectators. Hershey's Chocolate World
Hershey's Chocolate World serves as the official visitor's center of the Hershey Foods Corporation. A free Chocolate-Making Tour Ride simulates the journey a cocoa bean takes in order to become chocolate, and culminates in a sweet treat for all guests. Hershey's Really Big 3-D Show is a three-dimensional musical adventure starring the Hershey product characters. Hershey's Chocolate World is also home to the Everything Hershey's gift and souvenir shops, and fabulous eateries such as Hershey's Chocolate Town Café. Hershey Gardens
The Hershey Gardens started as a small rose garden in 1937 and bloomed into a 23-acre botanical garden by 1942. Today, Hershey Gardens displays rose, butterfly, Japanese, rock, and perennial gardens. It also boasts an Arboretum and an outdoor Butterfly House. Its most recent addition is the Children's Garden at Hershey's Garden, which consists of 30 themed gardens with child friendly attractions such as a human sundial. Hershey Museum
The Hershey Museum explores Pennsylvania's American Indian settlers, the Pennsylvania Dutch, and the creation of the Hershey community. It also delves into Milton S. Hershey's life and rise as a chocolate magnate. In the museum's “Old-Time Candy Kitchen” exhibit, guests can see the experimental confections that preceded Hershey's successful chocolate recipe. Hersheypark
Hersheypark is a huge theme park complete with an amphitheatre, numerous entertaining shows, and over 60 rides. The Sweetest Parade on Earth, featuring the Hershey's product characters and the Hersheypark marching band, promenades through the park at 7 p.m. every night from June through August. Hersheypark Arena
The Hersheypark Arena, built in 1936 to accommodate the Hershey's Bears' numerous fans, was once the largest monolithic structure in the United States and touted as the finest rink in America. Today, it hosts performances such as Disney on Ice, Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus, Sesame Street Live, and the Harlem Globetrotters. Celebrity performers such as Reba McEntire, Bill Cosby, and Frank Sinatra also entertained in the venue. The arena has 7,225 permanent seats, and 5,820 ice show seats. Hersheypark Stadium
Hersheypark Stadium is an outdoor facility that hosts varied events throughout the year such as pageants, concerts, rodeos, and athletic competitions. The stadium's feature event is its Summer Concert Series. Past performers in this concert series included Dave Matthews Band, *NSYNC, U2, Billy Joel, and REM. Hershey Trolley Works
Guests ride around the delectable town of Hershey aboard Hershey Trolley Works. Singing trolley conductors, who recount the town of Hershey's history and Milton S. Hershey's life story, accompany passengers on the journey. The Hershey Trolley Works departs from the main entrance of Hershey's Chocolate World. Admission to board the trolley costs $9.95 for adults, $9.45 for seniors age 62 and older, and $5.95 for children ages 3 to 12. Hershey Theatre
Milton S. Hershey said, “The more beautiful you make something which people can see and use, the more enjoyment they will get out of it.” This was the idea behind the construction of the magnificent Hershey Theatre. The Hershey Theatre certainly lives up to its patron's vision, with its polished Italian lava rock tiling, marble walls, painted ceilings, and grand auditorium. The theatre, located at 15 E. Historic Derry Church
Derry Church was officially founded by Scots-Irish immigrants in 1729, although legend states that worship began as early as 1724. By 1883, the church's congregation was dwindling, and the structure fell into disrepair. In 1884, a group of people tore down the dilapidated structure and built the Presbyterian Memorial Church – which serves as an old chapel in today's church complex. The only remaining structure from the original 18th-century building is the 1732 Session House, or Pastor's Study, which Milton Hershey enclosed in glass for preservation. Milton Hershey School
Milton Hershey originally developed the Milton Hershey School as a refuge for orphaned boys. As times changed, the school admitted both sexes, but retained its commitment to serving the underprivileged. The school, which spans prekindergarten through 12th grade, educates, clothes, houses, feeds, and cares for the children placed under its jurisdiction. Tours of the school and its Founder's Hall are available to the public. The stunning Founder's Hall, which is the heart of the Milton Hershey School, features marble walls and floors, Australian crystal chandeliers, statues, and flags of all 50 states. The Spa at the Hotel Hershey, a full-service European-style spa, is a chocolate-lovers paradise. Its signature treatments include chocolate in honor of Milton S. The spa's Chocolate Bean Polish exfoliates the skin with cocoa bean husks and walnut shells, and then rehydrates it with a cocoa-scented moisturizer. ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park
ZooAmerica began in the early 1900s due to Milton S. Hershey's wish to share his private animal collection with Hershey's populous. Today, the 11-acre, walk-through zoo houses animals that reside in the five distinct regions of North America. Thus, the zoo is separated into five sections: “Cactus Community,” “North Woods,” “Big Sky Country,” “Eastern Woodlands,” and “Grassy Waters.” The zoo contains 200 animals of 75 species, including roadrunners, eagles, bison, wolves, tarantulas, and alligators. The Hotel Hershey's Nine-Hole Golf Course
Hotel Hershey's Nine-Hole Golf Course, located on the hotel's grounds, places golfers amidst beautiful pine forest. The nine-hole, par-34 course measures 2,680 yards. Golfers can choose to play two rounds, or 18 holes, for a discounted rate. Weekdays (Mondays through Fridays) costs $22 for 18 holes, and $13 for nine holes; weekends (Saturdays through Sundays) cost $30 for 18 holes, and $16 for nine holes. Hershey Golf Club's Parkview Course
Golf Digest consistently rates Parkview Course as one of America's top public courses. The course, designed by architect Maurice McCarthy, was built in 1927. The 18-hole course is a par 71 measuring 6,332 yards. Its rates, which include a golf cart rental, are $65 from Fridays through Sundays and holidays, and $55 from Mondays through Thursdays. Spring Creek Golf Course
Spring Creek Golf Course is named for its Spring Creek hazard. Golfers must repeatedly cross the hazard, which proves challenging for many players.
